We’re on a journey toward good

We hope you’ll join us as we push ourselves to examine assessment purposes and practices that can be true levers for good (at any distance).

Four Circle Series

We’ve organized four distinct circle experiences that are rich in content AND model how to create meaningful relationships and learning experiences in a virtual environment. Participants can attend the whole event, one circle series or just one circle. Each circle exemplifies some of the work we are striving to do through Educating for Good:

  • Provide thought partnership to anyone educating for good

  • Create competency based resources and processes tailored to learning communities’ needs

  • Lift up the voices and work of others who are working toward good through education

  • Connect folks to resources that will help them do their best work with learners, both adult and youth.

Creating virtual communities is not just about holding space in “Zoom Rooms.” We will also learn together asynchronously starting the week of August 3 through message boards, twitter chats and virtual chalk talks. Combined with daily community circles at 10:00 AM EST, we hope to establish a learning community that will connect throughout the year, for good!

Ethical Assessment at Any Distance

What are the ethical and moral considerations when designing for emergency remote learning? How does assessment fit into that design? How can schools design for good and against causing further harm? These are the types of questions we will explore through this circle series with Gary.

Feedback Circles

Based on our work in assessment over the last decade, we've created three new review processes for teachers, instructional coaches and system designers. Join Carisa and experience how they are used in a feedback circle. Participants will also spend time thinking about how they could be used to help you develop your local assessment systems.
